Sample Service

We advise customers never to purchase a floor-covering without first taking samples home. Store lighting can be very different from the lighting in your own home and trying to carry colour in your mind is extremely difficult. If at all possible bring as many samples of your home furnishings with you such as a curtain tie back or an arm cushion cover, this will help you to narrow down your choice of samples to take home. In many cases it is a process of elimination and with such a wide selection to choose from you may need more than one visit. Leave yourself plenty of time and don’t rush or it may prove to be an expensive mistake!

Measuring/Estimating

At Lund of Otley we offer our customers a measuring and estimating service on all our flooring ranges which we provide completely free of charge and without obligation. One of our team of fully qualified estimators will call at your convenience, to your home to measure and quantify your needs. You will be given a written quotation in accordance with our commitment under the Office Of Fair trading code of practise which we fully subscribe to. It is always useful if you bring your own measurements (Metric or Imperial) when you call to select your floor-covering but it is not essential. If you do bring your sizes with you it enables us to direct you to products that are available in the most economical widths for your room. It also allows us to give you a reasonably accurate price for any flooring that you select. If you are not comfortable with measuring yourself don’t worry we can take care of everything. Once a floor covering has been selected we will arrange to call at your home to measure and prepare an estimate for the total cost including vat. We will advise you of any major waste factors and where seams (if any) will fall along with any other relevant information. We will provide you with a written estimate or confirmation as part of our commitment under the OFT code of practice. If you prefer we can measure prior to choosing your floor covering. This is particularly useful for large areas to be measured such as full houses or for awkward areas such as Hall, Staircases and landings. We can then direct you to the products that are the most cost effective which may save choosing flooring that is made in a width that may be wasteful or require a seam. It also allows us to be able to quote you an exact price for your purchase.

Carpet Alteration

If you are planning to use your existing floor covering elsewhere in your home we would be pleased to quote you for moving and re-fitting this to another area.

Fitting

We offer a full fitting service on all the floors we sell. We are used to dealing with uneven and difficult floor surfaces. We will survey your floor and advise you of any sub-floor preparation required in order for your new floor to be laid to an acceptable standard.

Parking

We have a private customer car park to the rear of our store. As you enter into Beech Hill car park from Westgate you will drive down the side of our store. Our car park is situated immediately to your left.
